Reconnecting to Winter – January 9, 2021
In our area, winter is cold. The crops are not growing. In days past, if we had not prepared well for the winter, we would not survive. The desire to hunker down, stay warm, be with people who are important to us is strong. And the time we have in winter as we are (hopefully) not as active as in summer is great to really plan for the year to come.
The basic format for each session is a council process and teaching about the cycles of the year in the morning with an emphasis on the current season. Participants will share a little of why they are there, so there is instruction on specific exercises each person can use for deeper nature connection, learning, collaboration with nature for your intention. Then in the afternoon there is 2-3 hours of solo off trail wandering practice to implement the exercises and self generated ritual returning again to the group for sharing your story and lessons. The stories are mirrored to amplify the lessons to enhance the learning for all involved.
